About Wisconsin Veins and Fox Valley Surgical Specialists
Wisconsin Veins is a specialized vein clinic for patients suffering from varicose veins and venous disease. The website is written by Dr. Jason Le of Fox Valley Surgical Specialists to address commonly asked questions. We are a full-range vascular surgery practice based in Appleton, WI and have been serving the Fox Valley area for over 50 years. We also have satellite offices in Neenah, New London, Shawano, and Waupaca, WI. We pride ourselves in providing evidence-based approach to patient care. Meet Our Vascular Providers
Robert Ballard, MD
Dr. Ballard is an accomplished general and vascular surgeon who has been serving the Fox Valley community and beyond for over 20 years. He obtained his undergraduate and master's degrees at Michigan Technological College, then went onto Michigan State University for his medical degree. He proceeded to obtain extensive surgical training, including general surgery residency at Temple University, trauma and surgical critical care fellowship at Emory University, and vascular surgery fellowship at Louisiana State University. Jason Le, MD
Dr. Jason Le became a Wisconsinite through his education and life events. He was born in Taiwan and moved to the U.S. as teenager and spent his formative years in the midwest. After completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan, he obtained his medical degree at The Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University. He then became one of the first graduates of the integrated vascular surgery residency program at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. He met his wife, a native of Kaukauna, during his school years and settled in the Fox Valley. Read Dr. Le's full bio here.
Alexander Tretinyak, MD
Dr. Alexander Tretinyak is both a general and vascular surgeon and is responsible for bringing a number of innovative treatments to the Fox Valley, including our newest, non-thermal based Venaseal procedure. Dr. Tretinyak received his undergraduate degree at the University of St. Thomas. He entered the University of Minnesota Medical School for his medical degree, then completed a general surgery residency at the same institution. Sarah Wilson, MD
Dr. Wilson is a native Wisconsinite. She attended University of Wisconsin – Madison for her undergraduate degree, then obtained her M.D. at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She underwent both general surgery residency and vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Iowa. Ariel Stilp, APNP
Ariel Stilp is an advanced nurse practitioner with our vascular surgeons. She earned her Bachelor of Nursing from Western Governor’s University, then a Master of Science in Nursing from Marian University. She has worked in various areas in healthcare including the emergency room before achieving her certifications in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber (APNP).
